At Ivanhoe we know that the impact of a good Careers Education can last a lifetime, which is why we devote a significant amount of time to it. Quality Careers Education is as much about aspirations as it is advice, so we aim to provide many opportunities for students to explore and develop curiosities about careers and Further Education.
In-line with our whole school aims of developing students to achieve their full potential and be prepared for future challenges, students will be mentored to make the most of opportunities which will raise their confidence, build resilience and allow them to take ownership of their choices.
Working with Business Leaders and Learning Providers, we ensure students receive unbiased interactions to help them learn about a range of career opportunities and to highlight the correlations between school subjects, qualifications and their future life goals and employability.
Our dedicated Careers Advisor, by collaborating with students and parents, and by providing the most up to date advice about Post-16 education will ensure that all our students achieve successful outcomes.
We work to fulfill the Gadsby Benchmarks as mandated by the Department for Education by using the Enterprise Careers Company Compass Plus Evaluation tool to continually monitor the impact of our provision.
An in depth insight into our careers education including our statutory duties, methods of implementations and monitoring and review can be seen in our Careers Education Policy. You can access it by clicking here.
We monitor the effectiveness of our careers education by listening to the 'Student Voice'. We also evaluate and update our provision, including the website regularly.
